What we do

Training

One of our key goals is to facilitate the training of talented African biomedical researchers using our facilities and resources.

From 2022-2024, BioRTC will be organising periodic free workshops on fluorescence microscopy, experimental model organisms, neuroscience, cellular and molecular biology techniques and open hardware methodologies, e.g. 3D printing, to biomedical researchers in Nigeria and across Africa.

Please check our website and social media regularly for information related to upcoming workshops. The first official workshop will take place in summer 2022.

Facility for Research

One of the best ways to promote high-quality research and training in Africa is by providing the infrastructure and resources for motivated researchers to conduct their work within Africa.

BioRTC’s facilities are available for use by researchers and institutions (check our equipment page to see what we have). MSc, PhD, postdoctoral researchers and senior faculty are welcome to carry out their projects in the BioRTC laboratory at minimal cost or through collaboration.

We will start accepting requests for the use of our space from July 2022. To book, please contact info@biortc.com.

Conferences

As part of our mission, BioRTC organises scientific conferences to foster learning and collaborations between researchers within and outside Africa. Our first conference was the BioRTC launch symposium held on 11-12 August 2021. Our next conference will happen in the autumn of 2022.
