Bio
I am a Biomedical Engineer at Biomedical Research And Training Centre (BioRTC), Yobe State University Damaturu, where I contribute to the design, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of biomedical and laboratory equipment used in research and training environments. My work also involves developing laboratory tools using locally available materials and 3D printing technologies to improve laboratory efficiency and accessibility. As part of ongoing research initiatives, I contributed to the development of a microscope for malaria detection (YAAM) and am currently involved in the design of a roller shaker for the malaria project under the supervision of Dr. Andre Chagas.
I am an Electrical and Electronics Engineer and a technology innovator with extensive experience in electronics design, biomedical equipment development, data engineering, and technical education. My professional focus centers on developing practical engineering solutions that support healthcare systems, scientific research, and community development. I am particularly committed to advancing innovations that improve accessibility for people with disabilities and strengthen healthcare infrastructure.
My passion for engineering began at an early age, inspired by my late father, an engineer and academician. Over the years, I have independently designed several impactful electronic projects, including a multi-language smart stick for visually impaired individuals, automatic irrigation systems, vehicle tracking and locking systems, intercom systems, automatic phase selectors, and hearing aids.
Professionally, I have gained diverse experience across engineering, banking, data management, and education. I worked with BM Software Ltd as a Data Collection Engineer, specializing in data gathering, annotation, and online data management. I also served at Fidelity Bank, Damaturu, in sales and electronic banking roles. Additionally, I mentored Electrical and Electronics Engineering students at Federal Polytechnic Damaturu between 2021 and 2024. My professional mission is to develop innovative technologies that address real-world challenges and promote sustainable technological advancement.
