Bio

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Maina Lab, Biomedical Science Research and Training Centre (BioRTC), Yobe State University, Nigeria, and a Visiting Research Fellow at Sussex Neuroscience, University of Sussex, UK. I hold a Ph.D. in Human Anatomy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. I am currently a Schmidt Sciences AI in Science Faculty Fellow at the Data Science Institute, University of Chicago, where I am applying AI and machine learning methods to our neuroscience research under the mentorship of Prof. Robert Grossman. My research focuses on neuroscience, dementia, tau biology, molecular genetics, and bioinformatics, with a particular interest in neurodegeneration within African populations. I also serve as Head of Data Science and Computational Biology at BioRTC, supporting the centre’s mission to strengthen biomedical research infrastructure and training across Nigeria and the broader African continent.
