Two weeks ago, Prof. Mahmoud Bukar Maina, Director of the Biomedical Science Research and Training Centre (BioRTC), participated in the CSA BrainHealth Final Conference in Brussels, Belgium.
Invited as a panelist for the session on “Building Capacities for Research,” Prof. Maina contributed insights from his leadership at BioRTC and his broader experience advocating for African scientific advancement. He highlighted the global need for equitable data-sharing frameworks and outlined BioRTC’s mission to develop sustainable infrastructure and open-access biofluid and stem cell repositories across Africa.
The event, supported by the European Commission, brought together leading scientists, funders, and policymakers shaping the European Partnership for Brain Health. It served as a platform for collaborative thinking on the future of neuroscience.
BioRTC is proud to be part of this global conversation, working to ensure that brain research becomes more inclusive, equitable, and impactful — with African leadership at the table.
