BioRTC is proud to celebrate Ganiyu Kaosara, a Research Assistant working under the supervision of Mahmoud Bukar Maina, Director of BioRTC, on being awarded the prestigious CurePSP Fellowship.
Her research focuses on how different tau biochemical states drive rDNA activity and nucleolar dysfunction in tauopathies—an emerging area critical to understanding the mechanisms underlying primary tauopathies and related neurodegenerative diseases.
In addition, she has received a travel grant to attend the Neuro2026 Conference in the United Kingdom, where she will engage with leading experts in the field.
This achievement reflects the strength of BioRTC’s research ecosystem—where structured mentorship, advanced infrastructure, and focused scientific inquiry are enabling early-career researchers to contribute to globally relevant science.
At BioRTC, we are not only advancing research, but also building the next generation of scientists capable of leading high-impact work from within Africa.
