BioRTC aims to facilitate research and training of African scientists using state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure that will enable them to contribute to solving local and global biomedical science problems. A Research Fellow position is currently available at BioRTC for six months as part of the support team for BioRTC’s Bioimaging Network Hub project. This position will be suitable for a senior researcher who wishes to do a sabbatical in BioRTC. Expertise in confocal microscopy and tissue culture is a necessity for this position. The main job of the successful applicant will be to provide training and technical support for users of BioRTC equipment, such as laser scanning confocal microscope. In addition, the successful applicant will undertake research activities under the direction of Dr Mahmoud Bukar Maina, who works on induced pluripotent stem cell modelling from African residents.
The position will be funded at Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 5) or Lecturer I (CONUASS 4) as paid in Federal Universities, depending on the applicant’s experience. In addition, a relocation allowance will be provided for the successful applicant. Experience in PCR, qPCR, western blotting and tissue sectioning will be an added advantage.
