BioRTC Computational Neuroscience Course 2026

We are excited to announce the upcoming Computational Neuroscience Course 2026, which will take place at the Biomedical Science Research and Training Center (BioRTC), Yobe State University, Damaturu, from 15th June to 26th June 2026. This international course is generously supported by the Simons Foundation and the Yobe State Government.

The course will provide participants with an in-depth exploration of modern computational and systems neuroscience approaches. Training will focus on analyzing publicly available datasets, computational modeling, and simulations using open-source programming languages such as Python. Sessions will include morning lectures and afternoon/evening practicals, featuring hands-on coding assignments and small group projects.

Subsidized accommodation, meals, and travel costs will be provided to all attendees. The course will also expose participants to research projects involving neurobiological data from vertebrates and invertebrates.

We invite interested individuals to submit their applications using the form below.

Please give a precise answer as this will help us prepare the course. A Python bootcamp will be available before the course for any students needing extra background.
Why do you want to attend this course? Detail how the course will be relevant to your current and future interests and plans. Briefly specify a project that would be exciting to you. This is a very important component of your application. We thus discourage the use of large language models to produce uniform, nonspecific text. Show us how you are uniquely motivated for the course in your own words.
