BioRTC offers a distance-based training in Bioinformatics for Individuals in Northeastern Nigeria.

Do you have some baseline knowledge of molecular biology and are interested in leveraging bioinformatics in your scientific career? Here is an excellent entry programfor you.

BioRTC partners with H3ABioNet, Cape Town, South Africa (a Pan African Bioinformatics Network) to bring you a 3-month long distance-learning program entitled “Introduction to Bioinformatics Training”

The goal of this training is to equip local participants with a foundational understanding of bioinformatics and empower them to utilize various bioinformatic tools, databases, and techniques.

Training covers:

• Bioinformatic resources and databases

• Linux

• Sequence alignment theory and applications

• Multiple sequence alignment (MSA)

• Genomics

• Molecular evolution and phylogenetics

• Gene expression (transcriptomics and proteomics)

This training is offered by a core team of experts from across Africa, and supported by BioRTC as one of the many classrooms (nodes) across the continent.
